Hey, I'm about to leave for Florence so I thought I'd send you off with this super dramatic dark blue and purple look! I had lots of fun creating it, hope you enjoy!

Snow White and the Huntsman: Kristen Stewart Inspired

While I'm not generally a fan of Kristen Stewart in films, I like that she never really has on tons of makeup.
I saw Snow White and the Huntsman yesterday, and I really liked it.

The makeup was sort of hit and miss, though. The "regular" or fashion makeup was really nice (except for one shot where it was obvious they had whitened Kristen's face but not her neck); it was the more special effects (latex prosthetic appliances, fake beards, old-age makeup) that I was disappointed with.

ANYWAY, here is what I came up with based on Kristen's no-makeup-makeup she had in the film. Enjoy!

MAC Hey Sailor Inspired Look

From what I've read from some beauty bloggers, this is not MAC's best summer collection. To be sure, I went into a local store and played around with the new products. The colour payoff on the eyeshadows and blushes are not terrific. The lipsticks were nice, and the eyeliners were not awful, but the collection as a whole was not their best.
The promo picture for the collection, however, was quite captivating.
I was not a fan of the eyebrows with the hard line on the top fading down to the browbone. But the colours as a whole really worked well together. I want to show that you can create a similar look without spending tons of money on MAC stuff if you have similar shades.
The red lips here have a cool undertone that matches the model's skin. My skin has a warmer undertone so I chose a warmer red to avoid clashing.
